Back to school!

Well after a long year of trying to figure out what to do with my life and searching for a real job that gives you a paycheck on Fridays ( since I have been in a commission position for the last 7 years of my life ) I am heading back to school.  Oh ya you heard it back to school.   Poor hubby ! But I am so thankful that he has patience for my career change , yes again! I can hear him groaning inside my head.

So this week I headed up to the college to get myself a parking pass.  Well the monthly parking pass is wayyyyyyyy cheaper than to pay $15 each day , so I got in my car and headed over to college town.  As I locked my car and started to wander towards the main building I looked around at the "kids " walking around me.   Yes kids.  Frig I am twice their age and here I am coming back to school.  Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I asked a pretty young girl if I was heading in the right direction And she gave me some directions, and then said ask for help when you get inside, and with a perky " good luck " headed in the opposite direction!

So into building "F" I went.  Found the first person I could sitting at a desk and asked how to get to the parking permit office.   She pulled out a map and highlighted the route to building " I".  So with my handy map I headed down the hall, up the stairs and looked around and thought " shit do I go straight or right?"  Haha already lost.  So I found another nice person sitting at a desk who directed me to the right hallway.  Bam ! Parking permit office. I FOUND IT !!! There is hope for me yet.  Haha !

So after purchasing my permit I walked back to my car checking out the kids who are taking summer courses and comparing the differences from when I was in college.  First of all everyone had ear phones jammed in their ears.  Everyone was either on an iPad or laptop.  Everyone was drinking Starbucks ( since when do college students have a Starbucks budget?).  And because everyone had in their ear buds or faces in an iPad, there was no talking.  The halls were quiet.  Quiet.  Wow ! People this is the prime of your life ! Talk! Mingle! Make some noise !

We'll wish me luck ! I start school soon and unlike the young kids, I bought a spiral notebook and a new pen.  Kickin it old school.
