Well how many of you got up super duper early today to watch the royal wedding of William and Kate? I dvr’ed it but did manage to get up and turn the tv on just as William was putting the ring on Kates finger.
What a stunning day! Such a blessing for them to share their intimate ceremony and day with us.
Lets start with her dress. It was stunning. Many people I spoke to this morning thought her dress was not fancy enough or loud enough……but I have to say I thought it was classy and beautiful. Simplicity at its best. I really wish that they would stop comparing this wedding to Princess Diannas wedding. Its a shame they have to keep doing side bye side shots. There is no comparison, times have changed and the people are so much different. The crown on her head was made by Cartier in the 30’s and was originally the Queen mothers, who then passed it on to the current queen who passed it on to Kate for her special day. What a wonderful thing.
The guests in the church all looked stunning. Some of the women’s hats are certainly a conversation piece. Fergies daughter who sat behind the queen had an interesting hat on her head. Not sure how to describe it. Posh spice had a funky hat sitting on her forehead. I felt like someone should maybe have gently shoved it to the top of her head. There was a guest with a huge turquoise hat on that really caught my eye. The mens tops hats were amazing too! and their formal wear, tassles and medals are so stunningly handsome.
I was tuned in to CNN mostly, since I can’t get enough of Anderson Cooper and Piers Morgan........they actually said that today’s broadcast was 20x larger than the Superbowl, they are estimating close to 2 billion people. wow ! So many people tuned in and I think it has a lot to do with wanting to get wrapped up in a happy, love story. Sharing in a wonderful day of happiness, true love, joy, peace and wonder.
The sound of the crowd cheering when the minister announced them married was amazing. I can’t imagine how it must have felt to be William and Kate coming out of the church and being welcomed and cheered by thousands and thousands of people. Their hearts must have been filled with love.
The balcony kiss or should I say kisses, was so cute. William and Kate kissed twice and broke all the rules! Ha! its was reported that every action they take today is scheduled and to be done in an exact way, so by them kissing twice, it shows their true love, spontaneity and maybe just maybe we are going to see a more modern, fresh, young, unique monarchy? It looked to me like Kate didn’t want to leave the balcony. I wouldn’t have wanted to either. I could have stood there for hours watching the crowd below and enjoying the cheers and love they were sharing.
The queen looked stunning today as she always does. Her yellow dress and hat were such a cheery spring look. Her smile seemed genuine and i am sure seeing your grandson getting married is a dream come true for any grandparent. She is one classy lady who is a true inspiration to many women in the world. Stunning!
On a grey cloudy day today, I really enjoyed the wedding and the wealth of history and information that the networks provided for us. It was very fun!
I hope you all had a good time watching it as well !
Ta Ta for now !
